JUST DO AS YOU'RE TOLD! By Catholic Evangelist, Frank Tassone Does this sound familiar to you? Do you remember your responses? "I will do it later! Why can't you do it yourself? Can't you get someone else to do it?"

As people of the world we might be able to get away with these responses.

As God's people we cannot. Romans 12: 2 says, "Do not be conformed to this world, fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs, but be transformed by the entire renewal of your mind, by its new ideals and new attitude, so that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

St. Paul also tells us that, "We are in the world but not of the world." Many Christians will go to a Conference or Rally and get blessed out of their socks by a finely tuned Music Ministry who lead them into the Throne Room of God. They are stirred by a speaker who boldly proclaims the Word bringing many to a deeper awareness of Jesus in their lives but, have you ever wondered what happens after all this has been said and done?

At our 5th Annual Congress God moved in a new and awesome way bringing "The Baptism of Fire" and "The Toronto Blessing" manifest in one place. Those who were prepared to let God be God experienced this New Revival Anointing. Yet there were those present who experienced nothing. They just witnessed the phenomenon happening to those around them.

(Due to certain Blogs that have aligned The Baptism of Fire with Pensacola and the Toronto Blessing, it is worth noting that the manifestation and subsequent prophesies of the The Baptism of Fire is in no way connect to the Rodney Howard Browne movement. In fact, no member of FMI have ever been to his meetings or any other meeting where the so-called holy laughter revival has been preached. In addition, there has never been a report or witness to any strange manifestations as associated with the Toronto Blessing: It was discerned at that Congress that The Baptism of Fire is not the Toronto Blessing nor in any way connected to it.)

This is a trap that some Christians fall into.

They accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, acknowledge the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, function in Charismatic Gifts, and after a while become comfortable and complacent, thinking that is all there is to knowing God, but, is it? In Luke 1:17 we read how the angel tells Zechariah that his son will make ready and prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. Even now in this age, God is asking His Church to do the same task.

Especially with what we see around the world today: needless killing and wars, euthanasia, abortion, alternative lifestyles, alternative families and the difficulty of Christians to worship freely in many countries due to certain laws and religious bias, just to name a few areas.

Satan is building an army while the Christians are entertaining themselves.

On mission in England recently a man said to me, "Part of the problem is that Satan is building his army while the Christians are entertaining themselves.". How true this is today. It seems to be the reverse of what happened in the first four centuries, when the Christians were building a spiritual army while the Romans were entertaining themselves, and we all know the outcome of that situation. "There doesn't seem to have been a revival of spiritual evil in such a socially acceptable manner as we are seeing today; its tactics are insidious in its intelligence, eroding the unity of families on which a sound and healthy community is based." Soldiers must spend considerable time in training before engaging in battle.

Armies of the world know the importance of carrying out every command. Their victory depends on it. Before any General can give a command he must know that his soldiers are capable and equipped. They are fed good food, trained in various drills, taught to respect authority and are physically and mentally prepared and stay prepared even if they don't go to war.

This is the time to stand!

Christian, how do you compare to this standard? Are we carrying out the word of God effectively as revealed to us by Scripture? Obeying and respecting those whom God has placed over us as Leaders to carry out His battle plan? But wait, there is more! Do we have the faith to believe that God can do what God says He can do? James 2:17, states that "faith without works is dead.". The very nature and objective of faith is to get results. When faith is applied works are evident. We can build our faith only on what God says through Scripture. (Rom 10 :10 -17.)

If there has ever been a time in history where the saints of God are being called to stand up and be counted, it is now! God requires His church to stand up. To proclaim, and uphold the truth of the Gospel. To be doers of the word and not just hearers only. (James 1:22,) I know this may be challenging, but be rest assured, Jesus has thought this through and laid out his battle plan very carefully, so we can't lose. 1Cor 15:7 says that Jesus has already won for us the victory. This makes us the victors in Christ.

No matter what battles come into our lives, Scripture says that the battle belongs to the Lord.

By defeating death and sin, and Baptising us in the Holy Spirit "He has made us more than Conquerors.". (Rom 8:37). So Church, let us arise and shout our victory to this world - "Rouse yourselves and keep awake, and strengthen and invigorate what remains, and is on the point of dying; for I have not found a thing that you have done meeting the requirements of My God or perfect in His sight.

"So call to mind the lessons you received and heard; continually lay them to heart and obey them, and repent. In case you will not rouse yourselves and keep awake and watch, I will come upon you like a thief, and you will not know or suspect at what hour I will come. Yet you still have a few names in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes, and they shall walk with Me in white, because they are worthy and deserving. Thus shall he who conquers be clad in white garments, and I will not erase or blot out his name from the Book of Life; I will acknowledge him and I will confess his name openly before My Father and before His angels.

"He who is able to hear, let him listen to and heed what the Spirit says to the assemblies. And to the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, He Who has the key of David, Who opens and no one shall shut, Who shuts and no one shall open: I know your works and what you are doing. See! I have set before you a door wide open which no one is able to shut: I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept My Word and guarded My message and have not renounced or denied My name.

"Take note! I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say they are Jews and are not, but lie, behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet and learn and acknowledge that I have loved you. Because you have guarded and kept My word of patient endurance, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which is coming on the whole world to try those who dwell upon the earth.

"I am coming quickly; hold fast to what you have, so that no one may rob you and deprive you of your crown. He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the sanctuary of My God; he shall never be put out of it or go out of it, and I will write on him the name of My God, the new Jerusalem, which descends from My God out of heaven, and My own new name." (Rev. 3: 2-11,)

We can see the great reward for standing firm on God's word and the great honour bestowed on us who are obedient, in vrs 21-22, it reads, "He who overcomes, I will grant him to sit beside Me on My throne, as I myself overcame and sat down beside My Father on His throne. He who is able to hear, let him listen to and heed what the Spirit says to the assemblies."

We can obtain the victory if we are obedient.

As the walls of Jericho came tumbling down after the Israelites did what they were told to do, so too will the walls of bondage put up by Satan on this world, and on your life, come crumbling down. And we, the rightful heirs will possess the land, because, "The earth is the Lord's and all who dwell therein."
